Rick was born
and raised in Chincoteague, Virginia and has lived on Maryland's Eastern
Shore
all of his life.
He draws his inspiration for his hand carved decoys from the wildlife around him. Rick's
mastery over his art allows him to capture each graceful curve and the pure
elegance of each and every duck or shorebird he carves. His skillful use of the woods
natural grain gives each carving a wonderful textural quality! All of Rick's
carvings are approximately life-size, and each one is hand painted and signed
with his trade mark (Below).
